Attorney Profile

Born in Jackson, MS, Zurick studied at Tougaloo College where he graduated with honors in English.  He continued his education at Belhaven College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters in Business Administration. Thereafter, Zurick moved to Houston, TX and earned his Juris Doctorate at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he gained experience drafting wills and trusts at the Thurgood Marshall Legal Services Clinic.

After graduating law school, Zurick helped form and accepted a position as COO at US Dentistry, which was a family dental practice owned by his beautiful wife, Dr. Umekei Smith. While there, Zurick gained invaluable knowledge and experience relating to compliance, regulatory, privacy and labor and employment matters. Most importantly, he understands that iron-clad business and estate planning by the right attorney is essential to gaining financial peace of mind for practitioners and their families.  

Finally, before founding The Law Office of Zurick T. Smith, PLLC, Zurick set his sights back on the legal profession he has always loved, providing litigation support for both domestic and international law firms.  With his experience, he is even more driven and passionate about serving business professionals throughout the District.
